Sow's Ear Studio, Surgery

Welcome Back!

Sow’s Ear Studio would like to give a nice warm and welcome back to it’s creator, Rosemary Prock.  Rosemary had complete knee replacement surgery five weeks ago and has been home recovering.  Now that Rosemary’s back, she’s able to move around better, paint, and gradually get back on her feet.  See Rosemary in full swing at the shop a little bit day by day.  Rosemary will not be returning to job sites any time soon, so stop in and say hello.  If you need some painted furniture, let her know.  Lauren has been working on getting the Sow’s Ear Studio’s etsy shop up and running so you’re also welcome to purchase items from her shop.  Welcome back Rosemary!

TBT: Late Summer Clean-Up

Late August of 2014 we decided it was time to clean up our storage unit, as well as the attic and basement.  You got it! Before painting and other artistic creativities, my mom sewed.  Mom sewed some dresses for me when I was a little girl, as well as some clothes for herself.  The memories we unleashed while cleaning up made me say, I have a good life.  Welcome to Sow’s Ear Studio’s Throwback Thursday photo of the day.

TBT: Yarns For Your Soul: Manchester, Vermont

Yarns For Your Soul: Manchester, Vermont.  Memorial Day 2014, we decided to take a trip to Bennington, Vermont to pick up some Chalk Paint for my mom.  After we left Bennington, we drove to Manchester, Vermont to this unique, special, yarn shop called Yarns For Your Soul.  For a small place, it packs lots of good yarn.  Welcome to my Throwback Thursday photos for today!

Jewelry Blowout Sale

I’ve decided to discontinue all beaded and polymer clay jewelry at Sow’s Ear Studio, for it’s hard to market, sell, and competitive. I will still be working with polymer clay, but I will be creating brooches, scarf pendants, and crochet hooks.

Photo Of The Day: Beautiful Gardens In The Adirondacks

db8f9-1654092_663336397095191_7928687781645020888_nEver since I moved back in with my parents three years ago, our new family tradition is to take a trip up to Bolton Landing, New York for my birthday.  Bolton Landing, New York is in the heart of the Adirondacks, right pass Lake George, New York.  Every summer, we would take a trip up to Bolton Landing and spend the day at Roger’s Rock, which is the only beach I know of growing up.  In 2014, I decided to update my Bolton Landing album and grabbed this photo.  It’s one of a few gardens in Bolton Landing.  This garden is near the travel center and Bolton Chamber Of Commerce.  I’m so looking forward to seeing some color, green grass, and leaves getting ready to burst on the trees.
Sow's Ear Studio, Spring, Summer

For Spring And Summer

For Spring And SummerWith spring here, summer approaching, and Rosemary not able to work outside the shop, these lovely black and white glasses were painted by her awhile ago.  This is an example of what you can have done for your home or a gift.  If you have glasses to bring in, that’s great. If you need Rosemary to get some glasses for you, that’s alright to. Let Rosemary know what you’d like to have painted on your glasses and she’ll come up with some that suits your taste or a friend’s taste. If you have a wedding to attend, Rosemary will wrap these specially for the wedding.  Rosemary is currently at home recovering and will be working on new painted glasses for both Sow’s Ear Studio and Sow’s Ear Studio’s Etsy Shop soon. Lauren is making the changes so that Rosemary can have her own etsy shop.

Waiting For Some Color And Warm Weather

cb644-10660290_10153955475448696_9137487710070796511_nHello friends.Welcome to my new blog on blogger.  I’ve been going back and fourth deciding whether I should have a blog of my own, or write on my shop blog, Mixed Media Musings At Sow’s Ear Studio.  Well, I’ve decided to do both.  I decided to make this blog about things that I do besides being a crochet and polymer clay artist and talk about things that I find interesting and want to share.  All my crocheted items and creations will be shared on Mixed Media Musings At Sow’s Ear Studio.  This is what I like to call my fun blog.  See where my family and I travel, recipes, and all the things that I love in my life and want to write about. This is what I call my life blog.  No art, no business, just fun.  I’m also going to share some family photos and events that I attend to.  Please, have fun reading about my life and stop by my etsy shop, for fun and exciting items for living, wearing, and sharing.  With the nasty winter we had, I can’t wait to see some color, flowers, and birds chirping in the morning.
I’ve noticed in the last few years that we’ve had some horrible winters.  To the point where I don’t even want to go outside and do anything.  Life has been good since I decided to do my crocheting full time instead of jewelry, but I just want some warm weather and color.  This photograph was taken in September 2012 when my family and I went to Bolton Landing, New York and then we decided to have an early dinner at The Log Jam Restaurant in Lake George, New York.  While we we’re waiting for the restaurant to open for dinner, we stopped by some places around to window shop and next to the restaurant were these gorgous hydrangeas.  So I decided to take a quick picture of them before we went inside to eat.
